Solar System

The Sun is a star located at the center of the Solar System. It is primarily composed of hydrogen and helium and is responsible for providing the Earth and other planets in the Solar System with light and heat. The Sun is also the primary source of energy for life on Earth, as plants  The Solar System is the collection of celestial bodies that orbit around our Sun. It consists of the Sun, eight planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune), five dwarf planets (Ceres, Pluto, Haumea, Makemake and Eris), and numerous smaller bodies such as comets, asteroids, and meteoroids. The four inner planets, Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars are called terrestrial planets as they have solid surfaces. The four outer planets, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune are called gas giants. The solar system also includes thousands of known asteroids and comets, and the Kuiper belt and the Oort Cloud, which are home to numerous small bodies made mostly of ice. These objects orbit the Sun in a vast area called the solar system. The solar system is located in a galaxy called the Milky Way.
